Building health is a universal multicomponent intervention aimed at preventing the onset of drug use and involvement in other types of problematic behaviour at the early adolescence. The programme is aimed at students between the last year of Primary Education and the 2nd year of Secondary Education (11-14 years) and their families.
Building health was developed in 1992 and is based on programmes focused on life skills training. In 1995 was carried out the first evaluation of the programme and its effects were monitored over a period of 4 years. In 1997, a second phase of research was carried out to test the feasibility of implementing the programme on a large scale. Finally, an evaluation of a family intervention was developed to complement the school intervention. Information on the programme and its evaluations can be found in the following links.
