On September 25, the course “Approach to the juvenile delinquency” took place at the Associated Center of the UNED in Pontevedra, aimed at professionals and students interested in this field of intervention.
Xosé Antón Gómez Fraguela and Aarón Argudo Palacios, members of the UNDERISK group, imparted a education of a total of 8 hours, taking a tour of the bases of antisocial behavior and the legal response given to this type of behavior, focused on the search for the higher interest of the Minor. Throughout the morning, the main protective risk factors were emphasized; in the Risk-Need-Responsivity (RNR) model as a scheme to guide the intervention and in the VRAI protocol as a risk assessment instrument.
During the afternoon session, with a more practical content, the main behavioral techniques used by professionals in the sector were described, with real examples to make the training more enriching. Before concluding the day, practical cases were presented in which the students participated actively proposing actions to develop an Individual Program for the Execution of Measurement, adjusted to the RNR theoretical model based on the VRAI data.
